Dear Friends,
First the good news. Things are going really well for Aid Africa's projects in Uganda. We're building stoves in three camps now, we've started a program to repair broken wells, and we continue to save hundreds of babies' lives. And we're really excited about our new program: citrus trees. We're planting 16,000 root stock seeds that will be mature enough to graft good citrus fruit on to in nine to twelve months. This project will address deforestation and supply a crop to people. When the trees are mature enough, we'll distribute them. We hope all these projects expand soon. There is so much need. And we can start to meet that need with your help. For more information, you can visit our web site.
And now more good news! Aid Africa is having a 5K fundraising walk/run. We'll go around the Rose Bowl on May 3rd. We're looking for both walkers and sponsors. If you're in the L.A. area and would like to walk, contact me (contact information is on the flier, which you can download below) and I'll get you an envelope. If you'd like to sponsor someone, let me know that, too. Except for some minor expenses, all your money goes directly to our projects in Uganda. We're all volunteers here in the U.S.
Every donation really helps. Ten dollars can save a baby's life or build two stoves. A hundred dollars will repair a well or build a sheltered spring. Even though you'll probably never meet these people we help, they are very grateful and know where their help comes from. So ask everyone you know to be a sponsor.
Below I've included a flier you can print out about our walk. If your friends (or you) want to know more, I can send you a brochure that tells of our projects and has some nice photos.
Thank you all for the support you've shown the people of Africa. I look forward to hearing from you all!
Peter
