Election 2004
Our Faith, Our Vote

The UCC Justice and Peace Action Network's new Election 2004 website and campaign registration tool is now up and running!  Please take a moment to visit the website and consider registering as a Team Leader for your local church.  You will find articles about UCC members and congregations in action, and you can download the complete organizer's kit and other tools.   After May 1st, each local church Team Leader will receive a printed organizer's kit with buttons and sign-up cards for use in your congregational outreach work.

The goal of the Our Faith Our Vote campaign is to get the issues that JPANet members speak to year-round into the public dialogue and election debate.  We are joining with some powerful interfaith and secular coalitions to create events and activities that will raise the important justice and peace issues leading to the November 2nd election.   JPANet members who join the new Our Faith Our Vote list will receive notification of these events.

Our Faith Our Vote "train the trainer" workshops are currently being scheduled during spring and summer UCC Conference annual meetings and special events.  See the events listing on the website to find one near you or to schedule one.  Sessions will cover what a church [and 501 (c)(3) nonprofits] can and cannot do in an election year, steps for registering voters, ideas for youth and young adult activities, and outreach strategies.

To sign up for the Our Faith Our Vote campaign, go to www.ourfaithourvote.org.
