"For the Bible Tells Me So" screening
Sunday, January 27, 2008

Please join us!

The powerful new documentary "For the Bible Tells Me So" will be shown at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 1920 W. Glenoaks, Glendale, at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 27.

This is one of ten screenings in the greater L.A. area sponsored by PCU (Progressive Christians Uniting).

This film follows five families with a GLBT child through their faith journey, and discusses how church-sanctioned anti-gay bias is based almost solely upon a significant misinterpretation of the Bible.  The film also shows an inclusive, affirming way forward for families and faith communities.

"Daniel Karslake's remarkable documentary boldly takes on a loaded topic -- Christianity and homosexuality -- and examine it both intellectually and emotionally; the result may well leave you blinking away a few tears." -- Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times.

A discussion led by The Rev. Keith Banwart, Jr., and the Rt. Rev. Paul Egertson, Bishop Emeritus of the Southwest California Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, will follow the film.

The screening is free.  There will be a free-will offering.
